The C.O.W.S. Compensatory Call-In 11/08/14
Saturday, November 8th 9:00PM Eastern/ 6:00PM Pacific
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog.
This week reminded of us that “liberal” and “conservative,” Republicans and Democrats symbolize the left and right hands of the one body of White Supremacy; “red” and “blue” are always secondary to White. White Republicans enjoyed a triumphant week at the polls, and many pundits have interpreted their midterm rout as a repudiation of that negro in the White House. The GOP might have engaged in a bit of Racial Showcasing with Mia Love becoming the first black female Republican member of Congress and South Carolina’s Tim Scott retaining his place in the US Senate. Cannabis was also a big ballot winner; Alaska, Oregon and Washington DC all approved legalizing recreational use of marijuana. The GOP-heavy Congress can overrule the district’s break with prohibition, but Ethan Nadelmann of the Drug Policy Alliance believes this is unlikely. Meanwhile, Whites in Ferguson continue to prepare for the worst when it’s formally announced that Officer Darren Wilson will not be charged with murdering Michael Brown.
