The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. The Covid-19 disruptions continue to roil the workplace worldwide. Even the billion dollar international NBA conglomerate is being affected. Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving still refuses to be vaccinated and has not been permitted to lace up for his team. A rowdy crowd of supporters protested outside a Nets’ home game this week, where some supporters burst through barricades in front of the Barclays Center. Although Irving’s turmoil is not equivalent to Muhammad Ali in anyway, he and thousands in the U.S. are facing consequences for not accepting the jab. While Irving receives millions to remain away from his co-workers and teammates, thousands of regular workers have been fired for refusing the Covid-19 vaccine. This has disrupted staffing in numerous fields across the “country.” Speaking of the U.S., President Joe Biden’s ballyhooed infrastructure plan has been pilloried and whittled to the nub. Paid family leave was the latest retraction from Biden’s ailing plan.
