Tonight we will discuss the long standing medical emergency being experienced by Imam Jamil Al-Amin (formerly H. Rap Brown of the Black Panther Party and SNCC). Imam Jamil Al-Amin is a prisoner of the state of Georgia but being held in a federal supermax prison thousands of miles away from family. Recently family members visited the Imam early in May 2014 and witnessed that his jaws were swollen from “an obvious abscess or two” from when they visited him in October 2014.

According to a press release, “Imam Jamil has been requesting to see a physician since his wife and son’s last visit, but that request has been ignored. His breathing is now affected and he feels toxic fluid has entered his chest area as well. His legal team is now very concerned about his health yet overwhelmed with the federal habeas.”
