Video: Electoral Justice Project Looks To Mobilize The African American Electorate In 2018, 2020 And Beyond
For months now we’ve been talking about the importance of voter turnout for every single race in this year’s election. A coalition of groups called the Movement for Black Lives has started the Electoral Justice Project to help with that. In May, the group took to the streets for a variety of issues including economic justice. But it has been holding a series of town halls in the last two days to mobilize voters to get out and support issues that matter to black people – and other oppressed groups as well. Kayla Reed, an organizer with the St. Louis Action Council and with the Movement for Black Lives spoke with Roland Martin about the Electorral Justice Poject during Tuesday’s edition of NewsOne Now.
