In defense of Colin Kaepernick, Gabby Douglas or, anyone other athlete not willing to mime

Submitted by P.Ghee -In defense of Colin Kaepernick, Gabby Douglas or, anyone other athlete not willing to mime and pay their homage, lock, stock and barrel to our Militaristic National Anthem.

I believe that perhaps , in this 21st. Century,  we should now  consider a more inclusive and, higher purpose in our choice of National Anthems. I  believe that the higher state of consciousness, the constitution of and the context to which they were written , makes  ” America the Beautiful ” or ” Lift Every Voice and Sing ” ; a much more compelling choice for our National Anthem. These anthems capture the hopes and desires of the greatness of the country and optimistically  as well as spiritually , inspires anyone wishing to be a citizen of such country.

To honor tradition, solely for tradition sake makes for a sad state of affairs as well as being, especially when full truths or exposed regarding the origins and state of thought dominating the creation such tradition and/or when cultural evolution is stymied as a result thereof.
