The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog.

Ten years ago today, Hurricane Katrina eviscerated the Gulf Coast. The Army Corps of Engineers poorly constructed and poorly maintained the levees designed to protect New Orleans, Louisiana. The levees failed, resulting in thousands of deaths, billions in damages, and the displacement of a million US citizens. This event and its aftermath is one of the most staggering illustrations of Racism in history. A decade after the destruction, 100,000 black New Orleanians remain in exile and income disparity between Whites and blacks has skyrocketed. Former President George W. Bush and President Obama visited the Crescent City this week, to celebrate the recovery and resilience of a Whiter, richer town.
