Long Beach, Mississippi story not adding up in alleged attack on Deputy Todd Frazier

Three unidentified Black men are being accused of attacking Deputy Todd Frazier at a rest stop in Long Beach, Mississippi. With no video evidence that has been released thus far, there is no way to verify Frazier’s story that alleges that the deputy was only checking on a “suspicious” vehicle parked at a highway rest stop sometime in late May with a man sleeping inside when he was attacked by two more men who came out of the woods, grabbed him and threatened to cut his throat. Frazier claims that he was only saved by remotely opening the door to his cruiser, which apparently was not recording from the dash cam, allowing his K-9 partner to get out and save the day.

However, something about this story does not make sense and I find nothing suspicious about a man sleeping in a vehicle at a rest stop which is what rest stops are for, so tired motorists can get some rest so as not to put themselves and others at risk on the highway.

Did Deputy Frazier radio in the plates on the vehicle and it was determined that it was stolen giving him probable cause to stop and question the vehicles occupant or occupants? No, that is not what is being reported and since the alleged attackers reportedly drove away in the same vehicle and remain at large, it is logical to assume that Deputy Frazier did not ever attempt to run the license plates.

It also does not seem logical that three men who would be brazen enough to attack an armed law enforcement would be frightened off by a dog when they would be just as likely to kill the dog and the deputy.

However, lets assume that Deputy Frazier was really concerned about the well-being of the driver and was innocently doing a welfare check and not harassing and brutalizing the occupant, does it seem logical that two men observing their friend being helped by a friendly law enforcement officer would just attack without provocation?

The Sheriff’s department would have you believe without any evidence, without identifying the alleged attackers, were part of the Gangster Disciples, a Chicago based street organizations, had put out a nationwide order to its members to Shoot Cops on Sight (SOS) and that is the motive of the attack on Deputy Frazier.

Chief Deputy Don Bass said,

“We’ve been stressing this for months and months now. It’s no different from last week. We get a BOLO (be-on-the-lookout) from the state alerting us that the Black Gangster Disciples have put out an SOS, or Shoot on Sight, for police officers,’ he said.

“For a couple of months we’ve been preaching safety because we knew our location between New Orleans and on the I-10 corridor… it’s going to happen here.”

Like I said, something about this story isn’t adding up and without any evidence to support this tall tale, I do not find it credible. For all I know the deputy’s injuries are self inflicted or received while attacking what he thought was easy prey one night at a lonely rest stop. The only thing I find suspicious is Deputy Frazier’s story.
