The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. An attempted black mother wrote in about her young son’s workplace conundrum. This teen worker has a retail job. He questioned a pair of White men who appeared to have looted soda pops. Apparently, the suspected looters mocked her young son and scoffed at the notion that they were #CrimingWhileWhite Interestingly, a black manager advised her child to let it go, “just two sodas.” We’ll discuss how other non-white parents would speak to their offspring about a situation like this. Gus encourages reviewing the policy and procedure for shoplifting. Also, remember, some shoplifters are armed.
