Black Talk Radio Network Tops Black & African Diaspora Podcast Categories In Feedspot Rankings
By Scotty T. Reid – For the second straight year, Black Talk Radio Network has been ranked as the top Black podcast in the world among a field of 38 podcasts by and for Black people. In a separate category, Black Talk Radio Network again took the top spot in Top 15 African Diaspora Podcasts.
Black Talk Radio Network is a podcasting and digital radio platform created in 2008 as a way to provide Black media producers with a safe digital space to create digital media targeting African and African-American audiences. It is managed by the non-profit media organization Black Talk Media Project also founded in 2008. It may very well be the largest collection of podcasts featuring independent Black voice speaking to a variety of issues impacting non-white people in the world.
What is Feedspot?
According to its website, Feedspot offers several services to consumers and marketers/businesses across industries.
It was co-founded by Vineet Agarwal, who leads technology and product development at Feedspot. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of San Francisco. Anuj Agarwal is a co-founder who is responsible for marketing and product growth at Feedspot. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.
Despite the success of Black Talk Radio Network reaching a wide audience and consistently being ranked at the top of its targeted demographic by an independent media marketing company, the Black Talk Media Project has struggled to find grants or attract corporate advertisers to support and build upon its work. While some corporations have reached out to the network, and the campaign of a former candidate in the Democratic Primary, Micheal Bloomberg, Black Talk Media Project rejects funding or ad buys from corporations and people who have done great harm to the Black community.
