Prisoners Not Allowed to Evacuate Before Florence
Despite “historic and unprecedented flooding” in the wake of hurricane Florence prisoners in the Carolinas were not permitted to evacuate. Prisons were given sandbags and other resources to help prevent flooding but were told inmates and guards were to stay in place. In the aftermath of what happened in prisons after hurricane Harvey some are concerned that forcing the inmates to stay exposes them to serious dangers. RT’s Dan Cohen reports.
