The Context of White Supremacy hosts our 3rd study session on Pamela Evans Harris’s second publication, BLACK LOVE IS A REVOLUTIONARY ACT. Before her passing earlier this year, #PamTheGreat operated the RacismWS website and authored a number of books that directly confront the problem of White Supremacy and what to do about it. She was one of The C.O.W.S. listeners’s most beloved guests and appeared on the program dozens of times. Deeply saddened by her passing, we’re studying her work to honor her life and to learn constructive information to permanently eradicate Racism. Pam stated explicitly that the primary purpose behind this book was to help eradicate the enormous conflict between black males and black females. Last week’s session continued to examine how centuries of barbaric slavery has shaped the behavior patterns and relationships of black people. She discussed the concept of racial memories and addressed the debate about reparations for black people. The text also examined the tendency for some black people to feel shame about the enslavement of our ancestors. Pam encourages us not feel shame, but rather to gather strength from black people who found ways to resist the worsts of White Terror.
