Tonight we will be talking with activist Sophia Williams from the Campaign To Bring Mumia Home which is an advocacy organization for political prisoner Mumia Abu Jamal. Sophia Williams, a Jamaican native who hails from Bronx, NY. Her mental imprisonment began to break while taking a history course at Baruch College and with that, she found activism soon after in the movement to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal. She describes herself as a radical activist, Sophia has been a member of The Campaign to Bring Mumia Home for 4 years. Outside of activism, she’s an aspiring singer!
The Campaign To Bring Mumia Home is helping to sponsor the January 9th event “Inside The Activist Studio: A Dialogue on White Supremacy” which will start at 6 pm est in the Recital Hall (1st Floor) Graduate Center, located at 365 5th Ave New York, NY. The world premiere of Inside the Activist Studio’s interview with Ramona Africa and a discussion with Roxanne Dunbar Ortiz regarding the current state of white supremacy as it operates within the United States. They will have Ortiz’s latest book, “Loaded: A Disarming History of the Second Amendment”, for sale and she will graciously be available for book signings.
