The state of New Jersey paused to reflect on the 1967 “race riots” that roiled Newark and changed the trajectory of the city. Incredibly, the police shooting of a Black citizen sparked the conflict fifty years ago. Speaking of race soldiers, In 2014 Chicago’s Police Sgt. George Granias beat a Black female who had been arrested. Apparently, when not bludgeoning unarmed citizens who’ve not been convicted, Sgt. Granias maintains a litany of White Supremacist websites – like “NiggaDown.com” and “Niggerrefic.com.” It seems he’s still employed. This week provided new options for summer entertainment that fuels racial healing and solidarity. War for the Planet of the Apes opened this week, where militant primates clash with humans again for supremacy. Former NRA president Charleston Heston isn’t in this one. Away from the big screen, pugilists Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor began their world promotional tour for their highly anticipated bout this summer. McGregor allegedly kicked off the festivities with racial insults, calling Mayweather a boy and demanding his black opponent “dance” for him.
