The C.O.W.S. Thursday’s Workplace Racism 02/16/17

The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly forum on Workplace Racism. This program is specifically constructed to strengthen our problem-solving abilities and to refine how black people think, speak, act and control our emotions while at work. Any listeners who have figured out the best strategies to minimize conflict with White and/or non-white co-workers, avoid demotions, write-ups, terminations or the other usual troubles we experience under Racist labor conditions should be first to dial in and share specifics. We always welcome the experiences of Black “entrepreneurs;” please, report how being “self employed” reshapes your contact with Whites on the job. We’ll hear counter-racist recommendations from listeners as well as individual reflections from your own work environment. Gus encourages non-white people to record your workplace experiences. Documenting your thoughts and workplace incidents is more dependable than memory, and the act of writing can help organize and clarify your thinking. We’ll also request that non-white listeners share significant portions of the policy and procedure from your current place of employment.
