The Context of White Supremacy hosts the debut study session on Lothrop Stoddard’s signature text, The Rising Tide Of Color Against White World Supremacy. In the days before her death, physician and author Dr. Frances Cress Welsing strongly advised that black people read Stoddard to better understand White Supremacy in the 21st century. A journalist and Harvard-educated historian, Stoddard was an intellectual luminary during the early 1900’s. He was prominent advocate of Eugenics – the belief that better Whites should procreate, while lesser Whites and especially non-white people should not reproduce. In Rising Tide, Stoddard outlines the threat posed to White Domination by different groups of non-white people. Much in line with Dr. Welsing’s theory of White genetic annihilation, Stoddard fears that growing populations of non-white will challenge or obliterate White authority and the global White minority needs to strategize on how bast to neutralize this threat. We hope students of Dr. Welsing will actively engage in these sessions.
