The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog.2016 began ominously with the death of Dr. Frances Cress Welsing. She reported weeks ago that her sister was also experiencing health complications. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. Unfortunately, grammy-winning recording artist Natalie Cole and basketball legend Meadowlark Lemmon passed away during the transition to the new year. As if black people needed more unpleasant news, prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty announced that no one would be charged for the 2014 shooting death of Tamir Rice; the grand jury concluded that the white officers acted reasonably in extinguishing the life of a black twelve-year-old. Hours later, entertainment icon and philanthropist Bill Cosby was indicted for felony sexual misconduct in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, Will Smith’s latest box office smash Concussion highlights how the billion dollar NFL conglomerate minimizes and profits from the destruction of black bodies and minds. Smith portrays black scholar Dr. Bennett Omalu, who initiated concerns about brain damage caused by gridiron collisions. After all his academic accomplishments and courage standing up to White gangsters, he laments how Whites continue to minimize his work, treating him like a nigger.
