The nation- and the world are now well aware that America has a “mass incarceration” problem…but do they realize how its really a modern day slavery problem? We’ll look at a report on the Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI), which is a public-private partnership between the Department of Justice, PEW Charitable Trusts, and the Council of State Governments (CSG). Do these leading organizations and coalitions see the connection to slavery and race as a major part of the problem?
Of all the “reform” plans and programs out here…why don’t we stay focused on the only one that has shown any real results- divestiture? Let’s take a look at divestment programs and how they differ from trying to vote our way out of slavery.
We’ll share several interesting news headlines, and show you how modern day slavery is on the minds and in the mouth of people from coast to coast who are finally beginning to see this system for what it truly is.
