Monday, Mar 2, 2015 political prisoner Albert Woodfox will attend his bail hearing in connection with his ongoing struggles with the state of Louisiana which continues to imprison and torture Mr. Woodfox despite his convictions being overturned 3 times by the courts. Mr Woodfox has been held in solitary confinement for 43 years.
Rasmea Defense Committee advocating for Palestinian-American activist Rasmea Ode reports that her defense attorneys have filed a “sentencing memorandum” calling for the judge presiding over her sentencing hearing not to imprison the 68 yr-old activist. They are also reporting that the prosecution in statements made to the court is trying to link her to terrorism.
There will be a political demonstration called No Separate Justice (NSJ) taking place on Monday, March 2 from 6-7PM outside the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in lower Manhattan, a federal prison where people accused of terrorism-related offenses have been held in solitary confinement for years, even before they have been tried.
There will be a Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner and Card-signing for Women’s History Month on March 3, 2015, Tuesday in Brooklyn, New York. The event is being hosted by NYC Anarchist Black Cross.
