When it comes to the US government, its above international law in waging war

Today former presidential candidate and former member of Congress Ron Paul blasted the US government particularly the Executive Branch for its blatant disregard for Internal Law and its own laws as it pertains to waging war. He was speaking on the Obama administration’s continuation of decades of military aggression throughout the world and most recently the airstrikes it is conducting in Syria and Iraq without Congressional approval or a UN Security Council resolution.

Of course Congress has always been compliant when it comes to waging war across the globe as it benefits the war economy and the hatred members of congress and their constituents hold for Islam in general makes them even more willing to not adhere to the Constitution and allow the Executive branch to do as it pleases. That is unless it has to do with Obamacare, then they want to impeach and claim violations of the US Constitution.

The United States government is responding to highly publicized beheadings of white men by the the militant group inside of Iraq and Syria that has declared an Islamic State. Unfortunately, the US government is silent as terrorist within its borders execute its citizens at will under the color of law. It has been reported that since 9/11, 33 Americans, the majority soldiers operating in Iraq or Afghanistan, have been killed by “terrorist” groups while over 5,000 have killed domestically inside the United States by police and other law enforcement groups. Far too many of the victims of police terrorism are unarmed and their killers are seldom if ever brought to justice and thus the terrorist are encouraged to kill even more people indiscriminately.

The “whole mess that we’ve been involved in in the Middle East has been technically illegal because we’ve initiated war, but we haven’t declared war,” Paul told Abby Martin in RT’s “Breaking the Set” show.

“I consider what’s going on now, specifically in these last few weeks, totally immoral,” Paul said. “I think it’s illegal under our laws and illegal under international law as well.”

The 12-term Senator from Texas criticized Obama since he pledged to “wind down these wars” yet the military expansion continues to ramp up “massively” in Iraq and Syria. Read more…
