The Context of White Supremacy hosts the eighth study session on Ayi Kwei Armah’s legendary novel Two Thousand Seasons (1973). This text was one of Gus’ top 5 books – Dr. Marimba Ani is a big fan of Mr. Armah as well. Last week’s episode detailed the successful overthrow of the White destroyers. The Africans used music/rhythm to codify their efforts to surprise and overwhelm their captures. Some of the black askaris rebelled against the White terrorists and helped murder all of their enslavers. Once liberated, the former captures took time to detoxify – replenish their spirits and minds. This week’s segment will follow their efforts to return to their homeland and make amends for he enormous wrongs committed against them.
