This week on Black Autonomy Federation Radio we will once again broach the topic of “Direct Democracy as an Alternative to Electoral Politics”.

2-8-2014 4-22-30 PM

Direct Democracy part 2. What was Participatory Democracy in the 1960’s and why has corporate power and money has killed liberal reformist politics in this period? The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, Students for a Democratic Society, Black Panther Party and other radical movements in the 1960’s pressed for direct democracy and “all power to the people”, rather than the gov’t and corporations dictating the social and political life of the country. What does all this mean, and what can we do about it on the grassroots level?
