Texas sheriff deputy indicted in murder case
An off-duty sheriff’s deputy has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 29-year-old Mathew Jackson. A felony murder indictment has been returned against a Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy, the Bexar County District Attorney announced Thursday.
Deputy Anthony Lamont Thomas has been indicted for the first degree felony offense of murder in the death of Mathew Jackson after an investigation of the shooting. The District Attorney states Thomas and Jackson were involved in a minor traffic accident on August 31, 2013 while Thomas was off-duty which escalated when Jackson walked up to Thomas’ vehicle after the accident and Thomas shot Jackson, killing him.
