Medicaid impasse threatens 87,000 in Arkansas
A budget impasse in Arkansas between Democrats and Republicans is threatening the healthcare of 87,000. A program extending subsidized health coverage to more than 87,000 people and is touted as a model for other Red states to implement a key part of the Affordable Care Act. Approved as an alternative option to the Medicaid expansion called for under ACA, the private option uses federal Medicaid money to purchase private insurance for low-income residents.
