Tonight on New Abolitionists Radio we are joined by Rev. Mmoja Ajabu, an independent candidate for the US Congress, 7th District. He is also a member of our Facebook group Move to Abolish 21st Century Slavery and Human Trafficking. Rev. Ajabu is part of a movement in the state of Indiana to amend the state constitution to remove the slavery exception clause which mirrors the 13th Amendment of the US Constitution’s language that allows for both Slavery and Involuntary Servitude as punishment for crime.
He recently posted a petition in support of SJR 15 to remove the offensive language from the Indiana constitution.
After speaking with Rev. Ajabu, if time allows, some of the news we will cover includes information linking Governor Chris Christie, a 2016 Presidential hopeful, to 21st Century Slavery and Human Trafficking by way of a company called “Community Education Centers”. We will also share information on how Private Probation companies are getting in on the slave trade and human trafficking in America and how Alabama looked the other way as prison staff raped female inmates and demanded sex for favors.
Our profile in abolitionism past is Martin Robison Delany (May 6, 1812 – January 24, 1885).
Tune in to New Abolitionists Radio live on Wednesdays at 8:00PM EST.
