The music video for the new 2 Chainz track titled “Birthday Song (Explicit) ft. Kanye West” features children engaged in negative behavior and includes a scene where a little boy who looks no older than 12 yrs old walking and dancing with a 40oz of malt liquor in his hands.
The Island Def Jam Music Group distributes the video, which is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of French media conglomerate Vivendi.
We do not find children depicted in negative and illegal behavior to be a legitimate expression of “art” and question why children are included in a video for song that focuses on “Big Booty Hoes”.
We call on The Island Def Jam Music Group, Universal Music Group and Vivendi to become more conscious and responsible for the media it chooses to disseminate to the community.
We demand this video pulled from the airwaves and an apology for using and depicting children in an unacceptable manner.
