A little known Black Republican running for a Florida Congressional seat in District 17 has stirred up controversy with a speech in which he refer to the President of the United States as “Buck Wheat”, “Listen up, Buckwheat this is not how it is done!”. After receiving negative press about his comment, Mr. Poitier issued an apology on his website. In a blog post on his campaign website, Mr. Poitier writes, “I apologize for the comment. It was in no means meant to offend the President, the Black Congressional Caucus and mainly the African-American people of District #17”. The weak excuse he gave is not worth repeating because Mr. Poitier acknowledges that he knew the offensiveness of images produced by Hollywood to portray Blacks as blabbering buffoons of low intelligence to white Americans. While Mr. Poitier insists he is not a self-hating Black man playing up to Tea Baggers much like Sarah Palin did during the campaign.
Cory Poitier is not alone in his insanity. His overall tone and utter disrespect for the President is par for course when it comes to conservatives. Unfortunately, when it comes to Black conservatives, a trend is emerging that seems to show that they will say just about anything they think will rile up what a dangerous bunch of racists, criminals and political operatives looking to make a buck off the ignorance of people who seem to think America is theirs and theirs only based on some sense of White Heritage/Entitlement.
While it is not clear if the racial insensitivity on Mr. Poitier is real or a political ploy to imitate the race baiting of the right wing pundits, what does seem to be clear is that Mr. Poitier is more than willing to become an agent of Israel. As is the case wit h most Christian zealots, he appears to hold the view that Israel is right to pursue its policy of manifest destiny at the expense of the indigenous population that was there for thousands of years before the U.N. creation of Israel. He even gives credit to Haiti for casting the last vote giving Israel nationhood and suggests that they give up their sovereignty to Israel. In another blog post he writes, “Haiti wants the US to take it over. I do not think that is a good idea. Haiti is a sovereign nation and to have a nation lower its sovereignity is just wrong. Haiti need to solve Haiti’s issues. Maybe, Haiti should ask Israel to takeover. Israel could show Haiti how to turn blighted land into fertile farm land.”
Mr. Poitier in illustrating the level of hate that is emerging as the driving force of the tea parties in the United States, Mr. Poitier in a video posted on Youtube declares his hatred of Muslims and even goes as far as to say it is in his bloodline citing his European patriarch as proof of his commitment to fighting Islam.
The fact that the Obama administration is calling for the halt of new building on Palestinian’s lands and asking Israel to release prisoners in order to get the Palestinians back to the peace table, can not bode to well with Mr. Poitier. Considering that 23% of Republican’s believe President Obama is the anti-Christ, Mr. Poitier would likely strongly indentify with them when his view on U.S. Foreign seems to be through the lens of Old Testament scriptures and personal vendetta towards Muslims.

As for the Buckwheat reference to President Obama, race baiting and the exploitation of Cultural differences is a regular weapon in conservative arsenal. Perhaps now another Black Republican, Michael Steele the head of the RNC, will reconsider signing a joint-statement with his Democratic counterparts against this sort of rhetoric that is leading to violence and racial animosity. Nevertheless, Steele does not want to upset the real leaders of the Republican Party, conservative political commentators like Rush Limbaugh.
However, like the Bible says, "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh" (Matt. 12: 35)

What does Watermelon Basketballs and Gold Chains have to do with deodorant? The Black Talk Media Project is asking that question. We expected suspected racist white people to defend the Old Spice commercial which aired during the NBA Finals last night but while not surprising, African-AMERICANS are failing to recognize the racial undertones of the not only the commercial but its placement.
In political news, a recent SCOTUS case resulted in the further erosion of so-called "civil rights". The US Supreme Court has ruled in a 5-4 decision in the case Salinas v. Texas, that your right to remain silent can be used against you in a criminal trial should you be charged with the crime for which you are being questioned by police. Texas Prosecutors in the case argued that Salinas’ silence during a police interview prior to his arrest was a “very important piece of evidence” and that only a guilty person would have remained silent when questioned about his connection to a crime. Justice Samuel Alito wrote in the majority opinion that Salinas “was required to assert the privilege in order to benefit from it,” even though a person questioned while under arrest could not have his silence used against him.

Jondhi Harrell and Mr. Glenn Davis from "Decarcerate PA" which back in May held a march in Pennsylvania to demand a people's budget that invests in communities and not prisons. "Decarcerate PA is a grassroots campaign working to end mass incarceration in Pennsylvania. We demand that PA stop building prisons, reduce the prison population, and reinvest money in our communities."
After we speak with Mr. Harrell and Mr. Davis we will share some of the latest news related to 21st Century Slave and Human Trafficking and open the phone lines for a general discussion on the issue.
"Hip Hop has become a playground for punks, pervs, and pedophiles." says DC native rapper/activist Yasin 360wiseguy about the current state of rap music. The artists has issued a strong pre-Father's day warning to the male rappers, "Change Your Posture!". According to Yasin, Hip Hop has done something that 400 years of slavery could not. It destroyed Black manhood.
"There are no real men in commercial Hip Hop today, says Yasin. "At least back in slavery our manhood was taken from us, now we give it away." Yasin states that the males in Hip Hop have been castrated which is why it is not uncommon for many of them to wear feminine articles of clothing such as skirts and skinny jeans.
He is also concerned that many rappers in their 30's and 40's are targeting adolescents with their music that promotes sex, drugs and violence.
"Most of the songs are like a pornographic versions of Sesame Street, " Yasin says and "These dudes should be charged with the statutory rape of rap."
Recently the website World Star Hip Hop published a video of very young looking teenaged boys rapping about sucking d**k. The boys look to be 13 to 15 year olds and it is doubtful their parents are aware of the video which has been shared on social media over 5,000 times through Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.
As a solution, Yasin has started the "Change Your Posture" campaign demanding that rappers stop bowing down to the entertainment industry and stand up like real men this Father's Day. On his website http://changeyourposture.org/ he has a list of rappers who need to change their posture and the reasons why they need to do so. Tonight he will discuss the Change Your Posture campaign.

He will discuss the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement which the Obama administration is currently negotiating in order to enter the United States in the trade agreement. The new Superman film "Man of Steel" has been getting a lot of ink in terms of its successful marketing to seniors. However, Daisy Deadhead has some thoughts on the pro military propaganda promoted by "Man of Steel".
Two weeks ago, Occupy The Microphone reported that there are allegations that South Carolina paid a ransom to hackers not to sell the personal data of South Carolinians, which was stolen when they breached the computers at South Carolina's Department of Revenue. Governor Haley has neither confirmed nor denied paying the ransom deferring questions to investigating law enforcement agencies. Greenville Online is reporting that instances of hackers locking computer systems and demanding ransoms to release the data have been growing. Jenny Shearer, spokesperson for the FBI, said that since 2002 victims who have claimed losses approaching $1 Million have filed almost 3,000 complaints.
