About Me

About Me:
I first became an advocate and supporter of "Kawaida" the philosophy of Dr. Maulana Karenga (http://www.us-organization.org/) in 1973 upon my return from the Vietnam war. In 2001 I became a Seba (a moral teacher – equivalent to Preacher, Rabbi or Imam), and founded Hekalu ya Nia (Temple of Purpose). In Kawaida, the Seba, which I’ am, takes a vow of five commitments which serve as a ground and guide for the good we seek to bring in the world. The FIRST COMMITMENT is to be a good person in the world. To do this the Odu Ifa says we must “speak truth, do justice, be kind and do not do evil.” Moreover, the Husia says we must “love justice, hate wrong-doing and always do what is good.” And what is good is Maat as expressed in a life of the Seven Cardinal Virtues: truth, justice, propriety, harmony, balance, reciprocity and order. The SECOND COMMITMENT is to be a consistent servant of the people. It is in service to others that persons and people truly realize themselves and achieve the status of greatness. For it is written in the Husia that, “the wise are known by their wisdom but the great are known by their good deeds.” Thus, the Husia says “serve one who serves you; serve anyone so you may benefit from it. The THIRD COMMITMENT is to be a constant soldier in the struggle. The struggle is one to secure and sustain good and right in the world which begins with ourselves in an ongoing effort to prefigure the good world we want to bring into being, but ultimately it involves struggle for that good world. The Husia assigns us the ongoing task and struggle of serudj-ta: to repair, renew and transform the world, making it more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it. And the Odu Ifa assigns us a similar task and struggle of mure lo s’aye: to constantly bring good in the world. Finally, in the struggle against injustice, falsehood and oppression, the Husia says, we “are commanded to struggle against those who struggle against us,” but to act for those who act for us and to do Maat to those who do it. The FOURTH COMMITMENT is to be a continuous student of the teachings. The Husia teaches that we must emulate the excellence of our ancestors, study their wise words, great works and good deeds in everyday life, and struggle to embody and add to the legacy they’ve left. It states that the wisdom of the ancestors is “teachings for life, instructions for well-being and flourishing, for directing one on the path of life and causing one to flourish on earth.” And we are to “love learning, seek after truth,” and constantly bring forth that which is useful for the people and the future. The Odu Ifa says that the first criterion for a good world is full knowledge of things. And it’s listing of things required to create a good world begins with moral “wisdom adequate to govern the world” and continues with sacrifice, character, love of doing good and struggle. The FIFTH AND FINAL COMMITMENT is to be a tireless teacher of the good, the right and the possible. The Husia says we are each to be “a source of knowledge for those who don’t know and one who teaches people that which is of benefit to them.” But it is important here to note that of all the various ways we can share knowledge, being an example and living the truth and good of what we teach and participating in the struggle is ultimately what brings good into being for the world. This is the meaning of Malcolm’s teaching that we must live our lives so that they become a “testimony of some social value.” In a word, we must live in such a way that we prefigure and help make possible the good people and good world we imagine and dare struggle to bring into being. Your Travel Biz.com (New 2007)
My wife and I own our own travel business (www.JahiTravelSite.com). Through our company we are able to help other NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS and CHURCHES take advantage of a unique fundraising opportunity through the travel industry to have their supporters book travel from their own customize web site. We also help INDIVIDUALS who are looking for a business opportunity in the travel industry, by being able to have their own customize web site too. We are able to do this because we are a part of the YTB Network. We also use this system to fund our own 501(c)3 Youth Development program Movements Unlimited (www.movementsunlimited.com). Your Travel Biz (YTB), is a publicly traded company recently listed by Travel Weekly as one of the top travel agencies worldwide. We are very excited about this COMPANY for a number of reasons. First, the search engine is powered by Travelocity, putting our website in the top tier of the online travel industry. Second, we earn 60% of the commission from anything booked through our website, which not only includes air, hotel, cruise lines, vacation packages and car rental agencies, but also extras such as sports and concert tickets, theme parks, golf tee times, travel insurance, flowers and more. Third, 100% of our travel now becomes a tax write-off because travel is the subject of our HOME-BASED business and NON-PROFIT business.
Our private label travel website is similar to Expedia with the same technology, selections and features of that and other online booking websites. The difference, however, is that when we or anyone else books on our travel website, we not only get a confirmation, but a commission check as well! In addition to being a travel company, YTB incorporates a marketing company as well. Independent marketing representatives such as us can also sell YTB online travel agency franchises to others as well. We are rewarded with the most lucrative compensation plan in the relationship marketing industry, richly rewarding both part-time and full-time representatives with not only travel commissions, but marketing commissions, bonuses and guaranteed residual income as well. Travel is a 7 trillion dollar industry, the biggest on the planet. Due a market shift with people booking travel on the Internet, this opportunity is a very lucrative one for us our supporters and those organizations and persons that we help. People are also learning how to travel wholesale vs. retail. Tune in to Baba Jahi’s Radio Show to learn more! www.blogtalkradio.com/homebasebusiness101

Okay Baba Jahi, let's do this then:
I have four dates that are available right now. My strategy has been to not put my subject matter in unless I am having a guest, that is my own personal strategy. As I have stated my goal for the most part isn't to acquire a large listenership but a specific listenership. The days I have available are the following Sundays: 7/20; 7/27; 8/3 and 8/10. They are scheduled for 8:00 PM CST time. I forgot where you were so the time can be adjusted to fit your schedule and time zone, hopefully, if Blog talk has locked me into the time we can choose other days as well. So let me know your availability and I can work around you. I try not to have shows on Saturdays, if that will help because I think EVERYONE does (laughing). So I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Attorney John L. Burris gives us some details on the shooting death of Amos G. Smith in an exclusive interview. Amos G. Smith was the young man shot in the back of the head by Union City police in March along with 3 other black men in the same area in a span of 27 hours.

A video posted to youtube shows a Black Muslim who had just hacked an alleged British soldier to death. He issued a warning to others before being shot by police.

War in these streets and our soldiers seem to be MIA

DOWNLOAD PODCAST

There is a war going on in these streets and as we just celebrated the birthday of Malcolm X, I would hate to know what he would think about the lack of response of our young women and men being killed in these streets by thug ass murderous cops and thug ass murderous criminals in our communities. Children don't feel safe walking to school let alone going to school and yet there has been very little response from the community to meet the security needs. Union City cops shoot a brother 8 times in the back of the head and we ain't heard nothing from the people about it in corporate media.

How do you feel about the NOI bringing in white men from Scientology to teach their members non-African concepts and spirituality? What the hell is going on with them brothers and sisters? After seeing photos of one of these Scientology creeps taking the podium at a NOI meeting, many people are saying WTF!

An article came out today about the Mexican activist whom brother Malcolm Shabazz was with when he was murdered. It may answer some questions about who this man is but it does not answer the questions about what exactly happen that day and many have problems with his version of events.

BTR News: Stop the Genocide Now w/ Carl Dix

DOWNLOAD PODCAST

Tonight revolutionary brother Carl Dix joins the broadcast to inform us about an upcoming event he and Cornel West will be hosting in NYC to stop the maddening mass incarceration going on in the United States.

"Mass Incarceration + Silence = Genocide. Act to STOP it Now!" Monday May 20, 2013, 7:30pm, The Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew 263 W. 86th St (between Broadway and West End Ave), #1 train to 86th, For tickets: 212-691-3345 or online @ http://revolutionbooknyc.org

In 1996, Dix co-founded the October 22nd Coalition to Stop Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of Generation. Most recently, Dix has been a central figure in the campaign to Stop "Stop and Frisk" aimed at opposing the New York Police Department's efforts to stop hundreds of thousands of people in New York City and frisk them for weapons, drugs or other items. Dix has long addressed questions about imperialist war, revolutionary struggles and the oppression of Black people.
Other news out of New York pertaining to the NYPD Gestapo & Frisk campaign against Black people. The newly appointed Black Chief of Department wastes no time in fulfilling his duties as a racially showcased weapon of mass confusion as he goes to a white borough to tell them Gestapo & Frisks is not racial profiling.

Keeping it in NYC, a bronx based Hispanic religious organization shows up to the Gestapo Frisk civil trial to show their support for a suspected racist NYPD Deputy inspector caught on tape telling officers to target Black boys and men.

Republican's outrage over Benghazi is fake

DOWNLOAD PODCAST

Conservatives in Congress just won't let Benghazi go and there is talk about impeaching President Obama concerning lies pertaining to a terrorist attack. Hillary Clinton is another one in their sights but again, this is manufactured outrage as well.  The answer to why four Americans were killed in Benghazi is very simple, tune in for the answer.

Guatemalan dictator and US ally Efrain Rios Montt was found guilty on charges of genocide against Mayan villagers, some are asking if US officials will be charged in connection to their support of genocide in South America. Ronald Reagan staunchly supported this mass murderer and was complicit in many crimes against humanity.

New information on the killing of Malcolm Shabazz brings more questions and suspicions. Two men have been arrested in the murder of the emerging activist but other activist believe the Mexican labor activist Manuel Suarez had something to do with the murder as his story does not pass the smell test.

Today on May 13, 1985, the City of Philadelphia used its police force to commit an act of terrorism against the Move family by dropping a two pound bomb on their home from a helicopter killing several members of the group including children. The resulting fire destroyed over 60 homes.

Racism is not "accidental" it is conscious activity.

This and probably more tonight on Black Talk Radio News.

Mumia, Assata & Malcolm w/ Zayid Muhammad

Bro. Zayid Muhammad of the People's Organization for Progress joins us to discuss several issues related to political prisoners, exiles and the killing of Malcolm Shabazz.

POP is planning another protest at Cineplex 12, Newark’s only major theater which stirred up controversy after it refused to show the new film titled "MUMIA: Long Distance Revolutionary" which focuses on political prisoner Mumia Abu Jamal and his contribution as an author and commentator.

We will also get his thoughts on the recent addition of Assata Shakur to the FBI's most wanted "terrorist" list and the erection of the FBI billboards of Assata in Newark.

Finally we discuss the constantly changing stories coming from the media about the killing of Malcolm X's grandson Malcolm Shabazz who was talked into traveling to Mexico by deported Mexican activist Miguel Suarez who many say has holes in his account of what happened.

Join me for Political Prisoner Radio tonight with Sis. Pam Africa to discuss corporate and state sponsored environmental terrorism, seedless veggies possibly destroying the seeds in our wombs, the Newark, NJ cancellation of Mumia: Long Distance Revolutionary and more.

Before we hear from Sis. Pam Africa, I want to share an important update about Sis. Assata Shakur as the United States government, perhaps angry at the attention Cuba received after Jay-Z and Beyonce visited the island which caused a new generation to question why the United States has a travel ban on the country, the FBI has double its reward for her capture and placed her on its "most wanted terrorists" list possibly making her a target for President Obama's drone assassination program.

Justice delayed for Ramarley Graham, teen killed by NYPD cop

By Scotty Reid, 5/16/2013, news, politics

There will be no justice for the family of Ramarley Graham unless another indictment against NYPD Officer Richard Haste is issued by another grand jury. Ramarley Graham is a teen who was shot in his grandmother’s bathroom while allegedly trying to flush a small amount of marijuana down the toilet. A Bronx judge tossed the indictment of the officer who shot and killed Graham claiming he had a gun but none was found. Citing mistakes…

Ambassador Chris Stevens is dead because of US betrayal and state sponsored terrorism

By Scotty Reid, 5/13/2013, news, politics,

The inquiry into the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya by conservatives to this point has been little more than an expression of white supremacy and political theater. What the inquiry is saying is that only "American" lives matter and not the lives of the thousands killed in Libya or those that are still being killed and displaced from their homes due to ethnic cleansing by forces backed by the United States. The…
