Lauderdale County, Mississippi Judges Veldore "Vel" Young and Frank Coleman appear to be running some kind of scheme to imprison the youth of that county in some of the harshest and filthy conditions at the Lauderdale County Juvenile Center that is run by Al Moore.
The U.S. Justice Department’s civil rights division is said to be in “negotiations” with the county to end the constitutional abuses of the children of Lauderdale County or the State of Mississippi, Lauderdale County and other local officials will face a federal lawsuit.
The story seems very similar to the “Kids for Cash Scheme” run by two Pennsylvania Judges who sent children to a for profit juvenile detention center in return for cash from a detention center misleadingly called PA Child Care.
It does not appear that is the case here as the facility in Mississippi appears to be funded by the county through its Board of Supervisors.
Whatever the motivation, it is clear that these three individuals in particular are a danger to the African-American and disabled children of Lauderdale County.
CNN reports that the detention facility was the target of a 2009 lawsuit that documented abuses committed against the children.
“The alleged mistreatment included youngsters being crammed into small, filthy cells and tormented with the arbitrary use of Mace as a punishment for even the most minor infractions -- such as 'talking too much' or failing to sit in the back of their cells”
Even the local police have ratted them out stating that they operated a “taxi service” from schools to the Lauderdale County Juvenile Center without doing any investigation of why the children were being suspended and imprisoned.

If you have an African-American and/or a disabled child, it would be in that child’s best interest not to be in a Lauderdale County public school where Randy Hodges is the superintendent.

There will be no justice for the family of Ramarley Graham unless another indictment against NYPD Officer Richard Haste is issued by another grand jury. Ramarley Graham is a teen who was shot in his grandmother’s bathroom while allegedly trying to flush a small amount of marijuana down the toilet. A Bronx judge tossed the indictment of the officer who shot and killed Graham claiming he had a gun but none was found. Citing mistakes…

The inquiry into the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya by conservatives to this point has been little more than an expression of white supremacy and political theater. What the inquiry is saying is that only "American" lives matter and not the lives of the thousands killed in Libya or those that are still being killed and displaced from their homes due to ethnic cleansing by forces backed by the United States. The…
