Shortly after the popular uprisings that swept the western puppet Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak from power and into a jail cell, conservative pundits and politicians were quick to put the anti-Muslim propaganda machine in overdrive. One Republican serving out her last term in the U.S. House, Sue Myrick (R-NC) has a long history of persecuting Muslims in America. She played a central role in congressional hearings stacked with witnesses with an anti-Muslim agenda.
One local news publication, Creative Loafing of Charlotte, NC wrote,
Ever vigilant against any and all scary brown people, the Charlotte congresswoman says the Egyptian protests could bring about WORLDWIDE RADICAL MUSLIM RULE!
Michelle Bachman (R-MN), another Republican with a history of promoting religious bigotry was among a group of representatives that alleged that the Egyptian based Muslim Brotherhood had infiltrated America’s intelligence groups.
In a move that is sure to confound the aforementioned islamophobiacs, Egyptian President Elect Mohamed Morsi (Muslim Brotherhood) has announced the forthcoming appointments of two vice-presidents one of which is a woman and the other a Coptic Christian. It was not that long ago those conservatives were bemoaning the election of Keith Ellison (D-MN) to the U.S. House of Representatives. Ellison is an African-American and practicing Muslim so it is hard to fathom these people coming out and acknowledging that on the surface, the Muslim Brotherhood appears to be a lot more tolerant than they are.
Ahmed Deif, a policy advisor to Egyptian President-Elect Morsi in an interview with CNN said that,
"President-elect Morsi is not only backed by people with an Islamic tendency or ideology; he is now backed by all the people of the revolution, and this is definitely a dramatic positive card that he can play while negotiating with the SCAF,"
"One of the first decisions will be appointing different vice-presidents. One of them will be a woman, for the first time in Egyptian history - not just modern history, but all Egyptian history, for a woman to take that position.
"Also, he has decided to appoint a Christian vice-president, and they will not just be a vice-president who will represent a certain gender or sect, but a vice-president who is powerful and empowered and will deal with critical files within the presidential cabinet."
The Republicans are now busy looking for a scapegoat for a decade’s old failed drug prohibition policy supported by both Democrats and Republicans. They voted today and found Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress related to documents they say shows he lied about not knowing about the ATF operation known as the Fast & Furious, a scandal that put weapons on the violent streets of Mexico. Mitt Romney seems to be compulsively ready to jump on the repeal the Affordable Care Act bandwagon which could be awkward for him considering Romneycare.
All this translates into Republicans being too confounded to come up with a quick response or they are blatantly ignoring the historic events unfolding further in Egypt with the Muslim Brotherhood playing a central role in forming a new democracy.
Speaking of Mitt Romney, the presumptive GOP nominee and Mormon has not exactly been Muslim friendly. Earlier this year Romney in part mocked the label “Arab Spring” which refers to the historic popular Egyptian uprising by saying he hope it is not followed by an “Arab Winter”.
Romney believes that the United States should “ensure that the Arab Spring is not followed by an Arab Winter” by not being neutral and supporting groups or governments that wish to encourage a representative government and prevent the spread of “Iranian or jihadist influence”.
According to CBS, President Obama called the President Elect to congratulate him on his election win but no statement yet on the recent Egyptian appointments.

There will be no justice for the family of Ramarley Graham unless another indictment against NYPD Officer Richard Haste is issued by another grand jury. Ramarley Graham is a teen who was shot in his grandmother’s bathroom while allegedly trying to flush a small amount of marijuana down the toilet. A Bronx judge tossed the indictment of the officer who shot and killed Graham claiming he had a gun but none was found. Citing mistakes…

The inquiry into the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya by conservatives to this point has been little more than an expression of white supremacy and political theater. What the inquiry is saying is that only "American" lives matter and not the lives of the thousands killed in Libya or those that are still being killed and displaced from their homes due to ethnic cleansing by forces backed by the United States. The…
