What a nut! Now, I don't know about the cakes, but obviously, Central Collections being a black hole clearly means that things go in but don't come out -- a case may NEVER be resolved, it collapses on itself, like a black hole. How is that racist? These folks are obviously trying to take advantage of the new spotlight on Blackness in America due to Obama's impending election to the White House. But this, is clearly too much.

They, are RETARDED Blacks. Yes, we do have a few of those too.

I am quite unsure of the motive behind the person who has brought attention to certain words that have a negative connotation, however, I am certain that language is the mother of civilization.
It is through words that we are shaped. Words that have a hidden or subtle meaning can do much to harm, mislead and obscure the truth for our upcoming and future generation and culture. Language is constantly changing and we must always be involved in those changes. It is of my opinion that,although certain words do carry a negative suggestion, this does not mean that we should be compelled to display an emediate response. However, we should be aware of the importance of words, and language; the way that words are used and the order and context in which they are used so that our children will be able to avoid the suffering that comes with connecting the color of their skin to something or some idea that the language has described as something bad.

Let me give you a backdrop on Dallas. I have had the opportunity to work with Commissioner Price in the past. Dallas is a hotbed for racial tension. Look at the events that have taken place with Former Mayor Ron Kirk and Former Police Chief Terrell Bolton and how the predominantly WHITE city officials (mis)treated them. The Southern sector of Dallas has been totally neglected by those who are supposed to represent ALL of Dallas. Jerry Jones wanted to boost the economic development in South Dallas by reconstructing the Cotton Bowl and bringing the Cowboys back to Dallas. The white officials fought it and forced the Dallas Cowboys to strike a deal with the city of Arlington.

There are "no more racists" in America today, however; racist acts keep rearing their ugly heads. They use code words like "Black Hole" to describe any monies involving the Black communities. Please look at the discussion in its entirety. A nice nugget to have in your library is "Blacked Out Through White Washed" by Suzar. You will discover the origin of certain phrases like " Devil's Food Cake", "Black Balled", and "Dark Horse”. I could go on but I don't want to give this blog a "Black Eye"

I understand where you are coming from Yahdah but in the context of this one incident about the money, do you think he may have went over the top? I have already heard this being repeated by right wingers using as proof of how far you have to find racism in America that people have to make up stuff. I also don't know what you mean by "no racists in America". You have to be kidding right.

I agree with you Doctor Mo on this one. I mean sometimes we take things to far out of context and our "wolf cry" just doesn't make sense. Even though I understand how the word "black" or "dark" has been used throughout the WORLD to indicate negativity in various aspects, because there has ALWAYS been the battle of dark vs light or knowledge vs ignorance, day vs night etc and it has always been how we, Black people have been aligned with negativity as well because of the word BLACK, and how the continent from whence we hail has been defined as the "dark" continent, which literally meant (in my opinion) that "they" had no real KNOWLEGE of it or it's people and their origins (which is why they are still digging over there and NOT europe). What I find interesting is the correlation of these cakes, you know devils' vs angels and how this has been created into a metaphor of Black PEOPLE vs White PEOPLE. If we want to get technical, I just wonder how the devil has come to represent Black people (if it does) the "devil" has always been painted as being red not Black, so if it were to represent any people it would for all intents and purposes be the Native people of this land who were described as the "red man"!!! Is that how it is racist? I mean is this sense of racist directed at the "red man"? I mean there are many instances of these "comparisons" that are deemed "racist" when I am in wonderment of how this is possible. As I stated before I try to be CLEAR when I charge racism or charge someone with being a racist because that has a very precise definition for me and involves an ACTION against me, even though I understand the power of words, I also know that behind those words action must be taken that involved someone prevent me operation in areas of human activity.

And while I am at this, I want to throw this out there, remember the doll study? Has there been a comparable study with white children or any other children and their preference of the color of the doll? For me, that study did not clearly indicate clearly what it has been propogated to indicate because the comparable study, to my knowledge has not been done or if it has been done, the results have not been made public. I just wonder would white children prefer over all the white doll vs any other doll with just a different skin color, or would asian childre prefer over all the asian doll vs any other doll with just a different skin color, etc. I mean I am just wondering about that because that was used to determine or use as an example that Black people hate themselves. As I researcher, I have not found any other study, has anyone one else? If so please forward it to me, so I an put that in the pot of analysis (grin).

Can anyone find ANY racists in America? Can't find one person to come out and say they are a racist. I hear people say they are proud of their heritage (ex KKK and Neo Nazis) but what's wrong with that?. Can someone name just ONE racist? I don't mean someone you BELIEVE is a racist but we need hard core proof. I'm about to stop fighting because when I think I've found a racist it turns out they're just conservative.
