The Context of White Supremacy hosts the debut study session on Melba Pattillo Beals engrossing autobiography, Warriors Don't Cry: A Searing Memoir of the Battle to Integrate Little Rock's Central High (1995). Beals was one of the nine black children to "integrate" Central High School in Arkansas. White people of all ages and from states beyond Arkansas descended on Little Rock and focused their terrorism and fury on these nine children. Beals recounts the daily insults and horrors she endured for the duration of the school year. Black people around the world should be able to relate to Beals' story - as "integrated" education has provided an infinite number of abused black students.
