The Context of White Supremacy hosts the final study session on George Orwell's historic 1949 publication, 1984. Last week's installment concluded with Winston in captivity; after being tortured and drugged, Winston announced his allegiance to anything necessary to cease his mistreatment. O'Brien notes that Winston has yet to renounce his love for Julia. As one of the key aspects of the book is eroding quality relationships between people - especially between males and females, we'll closely scrutinize what happens between Julia and Winston. We'll look for major themes in Orwell's text and main points to be taken away from this massively influential work.
