Father George Clements, Civil Rights activist and freedom Fighter, will join the conversation to this week to give us his observations on the escalating violence and murders in his home town of Chicago. Father Clements has been involved in the struggle since the sixties and is the founder of One Church/One Child, One Church/ One Addict/ and One Church /One Inmate. Fr. Clements is also known for being the first Catholic Priest to adopt a child back in 1981 and was the first Black Pastor of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Chicago’s south side.
•President Obama has promised a crackdown on military assault-style weapons as part of a plan to reduce gun violence. Do you think a ban on assault weapons has a chance of passing Congress?
•The number of women serving in the U.S. congress is growing. Do you think Congress would be more productive if women were in the majority?
